About our Terrace:
The Terrace is the heartbeat of our 5-star hotel, with sweeping skyline city views, it can be transported into a fully open-air rooftop bar and more recently, has launched its own boutique beer! In 2019, The Terrace Rooftop Bar was awarded “Best Boutique Bar in Queensland” at the Queensland Hotels Association awards. Your Responsibilities
Support the Terrace Venue Manager with the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the outlet, ensuring guest expectations are met.
Maintain strong communication between departments, including the Kitchen, Sales and Food and Beverage Management.
Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.
Assist with creating weekly rosters and managing departmental wage costs.
Assist with onboarding new team members.
Uphold Emporium Hotel’s Vision and Values through daily leadership and behaviour.
Deliver on‑the‑job training to Team Members to support adherence to SOPs and service excellence.
Ensure staffing levels and practices support financial targets and high service quality.
Continuously look for opportunities to improve operational quality and efficiency.
Assist with the recruitment of Team Members who demonstrate strong service potential.
Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.
Applicants must possess the following:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in leading a team in a similar high-volume, high-end bar and restaurant environment
Excellent grooming and presentation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Restaurant and Host experience highly regarded
Strong attention to detail
Sound knowledge of food, cocktail, wines and spirits
Experience in cost control and revenue generation
Ability to effectively manage, train and develop a team
Experience in developing and executing small bar promotions
Be able to work a 7-day week roster that includes - evenings, weekends and public holidays
Previous hotel experience not essential but advantageous.
Holds a current RMLV (Responsible Management of a Licensed Venue) and Approved Managers License preferable
