JOB DESCRIPTION

Kumo Sushi is a dynamic, dine-in / takeaway venue in the new business heartland of Collingwood, surrounded by creative spaces and high end apartments. 

We are looking for an experienced Sushi Chef to lead our small, dedicated team.  The role suits someone who loves hospitality, and is looking to achieve work/life balance (no late nights or weekend work).  We operate for lunch 5 days and close on weekends and all public holidays. 

Your attributes and skills include

  • Strong experience working in a high volume fast paced kitchen
  • Excellent knowledge of Japanese cuisine including the cutting of sushi/sashimi fish
  • Capable of  managing and growing small teams through the sharing of knowledge
  • Comfortable in a leadership role
  • Proficient in dealing with suppliers, placing orders and experienced in costings (preferred)
  • A positive attitude who enjoys the buzz and interraction with staff and customers alike.
