JOB DESCRIPTION

The Rifle Club Elsternwick is on the hunt for TEAM MEMBERS!

We are on the hunt for experienced front of house, Bar staff and shift Supervisor to join our team, 10-30 hours per week depending on your level of knowledge/history and position.  Join our crew and be apart of something fun and rewarding, but please only apply if you have the experience! 2 years minimum.

REQUIREMENTS

What The Roles Involve:

Bar -

  • We offer over 23 cocktails from our beverage menu, create fun seasonal specials and take pride in what we make, you will need to have a sound knowledge of making the fundementals. 
  • Opening and closing the bar 
  • Pouring beers and changing kegs
  • Sound understanding of wines 
  • Replenish stock
  • Tidy work space 
  • Up selling customers 
  • Using Lightspeed POS system 

FOH - 

  • Adapt to our sequence of service 
  • Greeting guests at the host station 
  • Running through the menu and specials 
  • Up selling drinks/cocktails 
  • Food running and clearing 
  • Understanding the pass and managing your section of tables  
  • Using our POS system (ours is Lightspeed) 
  • Taking payments for customers 
  • Using your initative on managing tables and prioritizing tasks
  • Assisting in opening and closing shifts 

Supervisor -

Operational & Staff Supervision

  • Oversee daily front‑of‑house and bar operations, ensuring readiness, staffing, and smooth shift transitions.
  • Maintain productivity, morale, and adherence to lock‑up/security procedures.

Quality & Service Standards

  • Implement and uphold service procedures.

  • Ensure staff product knowledge and consistent customer service standards.

  • Identify improvement opportunities and manage customer complaints professionally.

Culture, Training & Performance

  • Ensure proper induction processes and effective communication across the team.

  • Coach, train, develop, and support staff.

  • Promote respectful, professional workplace behaviour.

Financial Control

  • Ensure accurate POS use, correct pricing, and proper cash/credit handling.

  • Oversee till balancing, staff timekeeping, and productivity.

  • Assist with stocktakes and minimise theft, wastage, and damage.

Management, Compliance & Reporting

  • Demonstrate leadership, initiative, communication, and time management.

  • Manage crises and conflict according to policy.

  • Delegate tasks and ensure completion.

  • Deliver KPIs, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

  • Provide timely reporting on sales, stock, labour, and variances.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, awards, audits, RSA and First Aid requirements.
