The Opportunity

We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced hospitality professional to assist in leading our venue operations. This is a 30-plus-hour role with a shared roster of opening and closing shifts. The position is perfect for someone passionate about hospitality who delivers great service, has genuine leadership qualities and enjoys working in a team-focused environment. Jointly, you will oversee the management of our bar, ensuring everything runs smoothly while creating a welcoming atmosphere for our patrons.

Responsibilities Include

You will work across bar service, functions, events, gaming and general venue operations.

  • Joint management of our bar team, providing training and support while fostering a positive and efficient work environment
  • Overseeing bar operations, ensuring smooth service and daily stock management
  • Supporting monthly events held by the Bowlo, in accordance with our social media
  • Ensuring an exceptional guest experience through excellent customer service
  • Dealing with busy functions, ensuring seamless bar service during high-volume events
  • Taking care of locals, building rapport and fostering a welcoming environment
  • Handling a mix of opening and closing shifts
  • Supporting management with the day-to-day operation of the venue
  • Ensuring the club is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and safety
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws and health and safety standards
  • Understanding our POS system, Lightspeed, managing cash handling and tills, and performing end-of-day reconciliations
  • Showing initiative and pitching in where required

What We’re Looking For

  • At least two years of prior experience in a bar supervisory or management role
  • Possession of current RSA and RCG certification
  • First Aid certificate
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage and train staff
  • A high level of customer service and a positive attitude
  • Pride in creating a welcoming venue where locals feel valued and first-time visitors become regulars
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Confidence working independently and during busy service periods
  • Experience liaising with club management or boards
  • Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
  • Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure
