This Stradbroke Season (2 May – 27 June 2026), Eagle Farm Racecourse and Doomben Racecourse will come alive with some of the most prestigious race days on the calendar – and we want you to be part of it.

 

Available Roles

We are hiring for the following casual kitchenhand positions during the Stradbroke Season:

  • Kitchen Steward

Support our kitchen team by keeping work areas clean, organised, and running efficiently. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands‑on tasks and working behind the scenes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities: Deep cleaning equipment and benches, pot washing, sweeping, hosing, waste management, safe chemical handling, and basic food prep (peeling and cutting).

Qualifications: Previous kitchen or stewarding experience preferred. Ability to safely handle chemicals and manual tasks is essential.

 

  • Pantry Hand

Support our chefs by keeping the kitchen running smoothly and assisting with simple food preparation. Ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on, fast-paced work and being part of a collaborative culinary team.

Key Responsibilities: General cleaning and kitchen upkeep, simple food prep (salad garnishes, sandwiches, baking, steaming), and assisting chefs with basic plating and prep tasks.

Qualifications: Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred. Ability to work efficiently and follow food‑safety practices is essential.

 

 

Group Assessments (Mandatory) 

Applicants who progress through the recruitment process will be invited to attend a group assessment session at Eagle Farm Racecourse. This is your chance to show us your energy, teamwork, and passion for creating unforgettable race-day experiences.

Assessment sessions are scheduled for:

  • Thursday 26 March – 9:30AM
  • Tuesday 31 March – 2:30PM

Important: You must attend one session to be considered for employment.
