Dr Goodes is a neighbourhood venue that shifts with the night — a relaxed, design-led pizza and cocktail bar that gradually builds into a culturally charged social space. Groove-led foundations rolling into disco and house, drawing in locals and the creative vanguard. Behind every clean plate and smooth service is a kitchen that runs tight. We're looking for a Kitchen Hand who takes pride in a spotless, well-organised section and wants to be part of the team that keeps the night moving.

This role is primarily for KPs, but suitable candidates may be considered for a Commis or Chef de Partie (CDP) position.

What you'll be doing

  • Washing, cleaning and maintaining all crockery, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment to a consistently high standard
  • Keeping the kitchen, prep areas and scullery clean, tidy and free of hazards throughout service
  • Assisting chefs with basic prep and assembly of ingredients as needed
  • General pantry duties, stock rotation and putting away deliveries
  • Daily checks on equipment, storage and cleaning-chemical levels, following food safety and HSE procedures
  • Emptying bins and recyclables and dealing with spills immediately to keep the floor safe

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

What you'll bring

  • A strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and pride in a clean, organised kitchen
  • Reliability and punctuality — ready to start on time, every shift
  • The ability to keep your cool and keep up when the kitchen gets busy
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
  • Availability across evenings, late nights and weekends (we're open Tue–Sun, with shifts running late Fri–Sat)
  • NSW Food Safety / Food Handler Basics Certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • For Commis/CDP consideration: a minimum 6 months' demonstrated experience in a similar kitchen role and confidence operating commercial kitchen equipment
