Café del Mar Sydney is a premium restaurant and rooftop bar, which hosts a calendar full of corporate, social and international music events throughout the year. 

Music is at the heart of the Café del Mar brand. 

 Our menu offers a modern Australian approach using local and seasonal produce– with a focus on fresh clean and flavourful dishes inspired by cuisines from the Mediterranean coastline.

 We are looking for an experienced and passionate F&B Duty Manager that comes from either a Restaurant or Beverage Manager background for an exciting opportunity located a few minutes from the CBD, nestled on the rooftop terrace of Cockle Bay Wharf.

 Reporting to the Operations Manager / General Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the venue in their absence and bring with you the skills for operating a full-service premium casual dining and beverage experience.  

 Key Responsibilities:

 ·        Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar in a busy fast paced environment, in the absence of senior management.  

·        Ensure excellence in food and beverage service standards and to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

·        Supervision of team members.

·        Hands on and lead by example attitude.

·        Strong understanding on Food, Beverage and Payroll cost control.

·        F&B ordering, and stock and inventory control

·        Experience with rostering

Assistant Manager
Bar Manager
Restaurant Manager

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Desired Skills and Experience:

 We will require a minimum 3-5 years' previous experience as Restaurant / Bar Manager within a high performing fast paced venue, ideally having events / night trade experience, complemented with excellent food and beverage knowledge and exceptional customer service skills.

 Able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

 ·        Is highly organized and able to work under pressure

·        Creative flair 

·        Has a clear understanding of culinary and beverage trends and customer needs

·        Excellent interpersonal skills

·        Strategic and guest orientated perspective

·        Strong ability to organise effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly

·        Strong leadership and attention to detail 

·        Will take full accountability and 'ownership' of their role

·        Has proven experience in the same or similar role

·        A positive approach

 

Role Requirements 

·        First Aid (preferred)

·        Unrestricted working rights in Australia (essential)

·        Australian Food Safety Certificate (preferred)

·        RSA Certificate (essential)
