JOB DESCRIPTION

81 Bay Wine Bar and Baix Restaurant are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and experienced Hospitality Team Member to join our growing team.

This casual position is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is looking for a diverse role across restaurant service, wine events, functions, and special dining experiences.

We are in the heart of Brighton, being the latest hospitality venue brought to life by restaurateur Ian Curley (Kirk's Wine Bar & French Saloon). With two distinct spaces; The Wine Bar 81 Bay, offering a relaxed local neighbourhood atmosphere, perfect for everything from a casual glass of wine to an A la Carte meal, and an adjoined Restaurant Baix, offering a more intimate and elevated experience. 

With a strong focus on wine, thoughtfully curated cocktails, and heart felt food, we offer the opportunity to give exceptional service and gain invaluable experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional food and beverage service with confidence and professionalism.
  • Provide warm, welcoming, and personalised customer service to all guests.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our food, wine, and beverage offerings.
  • Assist guests with menu recommendations and wine selections.
  • Maintain high standards of venue presentation, cleanliness, and organisation.
  • Set up and pack down dining areas, events, functions, and wine dinners.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Handle guest enquiries and resolve issues professionally and courteously.
  • Follow venue procedures, health and safety requirements, and responsible service practices.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and support colleagues when required.

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.

* Ability to perform hands-on physical tasks

* Minimum 2 year in a comparable role

* Hardworking, team work ethic and ability to work in a fast paced environment

* Excellent presentation and customer service standards
