JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Waiter – Immediate Start (Part-Time / Casual)

Viand | Sydney | Fine Dining | Thai Tasting Menu

We’re a small, high-calibre team running an intimate open kitchen where guests are part of the story — not just observers. Chef Annita Potter leads with traditional Thai tasting menus, thoughtfully paired with wine that elevates every course.

We’re looking for a Senior Waiter with real fine dining experience — someone who’s worked floor to close in a serious restaurant environment and knows how to hold the room with calm, precision, and warmth.

You’ll bring:

✔️ Proven experience as a Section or Senior Waiter in fine dining or similar high calibre restaruant - minimum 3 years experience

✔️ Confidence guiding guests through multi-course service — no script, just deep knowledge and presence (tasting notes prepared for you)

✔️ Strong wine and hospitality instincts — you don’t just serve, you connect

✔️ The ability to stay poised, professional, and present during high-energy nights

Your role includes:

• Pre-service setup and post-service pack-down

• Welcoming guests with genuine care

• Explaining dishes and pairings (we give you the details — you make them come alive)

• Anticipating needs, managing flow, and working seamlessly with the kitchen

Hours:

Wed–Sat & 1st Mon of the month Shifts: 3:30/4pm – ~11pm

Sunday off. Staff meals. Strong tips. Real camaraderie.

Important: We only respond to applicants with direct experience in high-end restaurant service. If that’s you — send your resume and a short note on why Viand speaks to you.
