JOB DESCRIPTION

Great coffee is your craft. People are your thing.

The Burrow Cafe is looking for an experienced barista to own our weekend coffee service.

You'll need to be confident working both independently and alongside another barista, have solid latte art skills and understand espresso recipes and single origins.

We give you great tools to work with, including a Latte Art Factory milk system and quality coffee equipment and technology.

But we're looking for more than someone who can make coffee.

We want someone who gets to know our customers, builds relationships and becomes part of the place.

It's a hands-on cafe, so you'll also deliver drinks, clear tables, keep your space clean and prepare smoothies, juices and milkshakes. Nobody is above helping the team.

The deal is simple:

  • Every Saturday + Sunday
  • 7am-3pm
  • 16 consistent hours every week
  • Long-term position
  • Experienced baristas only

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Barista

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' barista experience in a busy cafe environment
  • Confident producing consistent latte art
  • Strong understanding of espresso extraction and coffee recipes
  • Understanding of or genuine interest in single origin coffee.
  • Able to work confidently both independently and alongside another barista
  • Comfortable managing a busy coffee service and multiple orders
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must enjoy engaging with customers and building relationships with regulars
  • Team-first attitude, including cleaning, clearing tables and helping wherever needed
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Available every Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 3pm
  • Looking for a consistent, long-term weekend position

Most importantly, we are looking for personality as well as coffee skills. You need to genuinely enjoy people.
