Bar Manager - Narrow Tracks Distilling - Cairns QLD

We’re looking for a Bar Manager to take the lead on the day-to-day running of our cocktail bar and distillery door.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys good drinks, good people and creating a great atmosphere. You’ll be working on the floor alongside the team, while also taking ownership of the behind-the-scenes jobs that keep the venue running smoothly.

The role

In this full time role, you’ll be responsible for:

Day-to-day operation of the cocktail bar and distillery door

Leading, rostering and managing our bar team

Bartending and providing great customer service

Managing stock levels and ordering

Maintaining presentation and service standards

Organising and helping run events and functions

Hosting distillery tours and tastings

Helping develop cocktails and specials

Opening and closing procedures

Cash handling and basic daily reporting

Working with the distillery team to keep the bar stocked and products presented well

Making sure customers leave having had a genuinely great experience

About you:

We’re not looking for someone who wants to sit in an office and "manage" a bar from a distance.

You’ll need to be a gun behind the bar, love talking to customers, leading the team and sorting out the little problems that come with running a busy venue.

What we need you to bring:

- Bar management experience

- Strong people skills and a good attitude

- Confidence leading a small team

- Good organisation and the ability to work independently

- Cocktail and spirits knowledge

- An eye for customer experience and presentation

- Current RSA, RMLV a bonus

- A love of great hospitality

Experience with distilleries, breweries, cellar doors or events would be great, but it’s not essential.

Narrow Tracks Distilling is a Far North Queensland distillery producing rum, gin and other spirits, with our own cocktail bar and distillery door.

We’re a small, growing business, so this is a chance to take real ownership of the venue and have a say in how it develops — from cocktails and events through to the overall customer experience.

Drivers Licence (own car preferable)

Cocktail bar experience

Bar management experience

Min 2 years in similar roles

Long term commitment
