JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Commis Chef to join our team at a busy fine dining steakhouse. This is a great opportunity for a passionate chef who enjoys working with high-quality ingredients, maintaining high standards, and supporting a professional kitchen team in delivering exceptional dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items to the highest standard.
  • Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and service.
  • Ensure all ingredients are prepared, stored, and handled correctly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen sections.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
  • Help with stock rotation, labelling, and minimising waste.
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional team environment.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef in a professional kitchen, ideally within a fine dining or high-volume restaurant.
  • Experience working with premium meat or steak preparation is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for quality food, presentation, and consistency.
  • Willingness to learn from senior chefs and develop skills further.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

We need a Commis Chef with full availbility to work 30-40 hours per week on a rotating schedule.
