We’re looking for a chef to join the team at The Mossy — a group of vibrant coastal cafés located in Mossy Point, Broulee and Batemans Bay on the beautiful NSW South Coast.

The Mossy cafés have become something of an institution in the region, operating successfully for more than 10 years. Locals love us, visitors seek us out, and during peak holiday periods our venues are buzzing with energy and excitement.

Outside of peak season, things slow down and the vibe becomes more relaxed — the perfect balance between high-energy service and a chilled coastal lifestyle.

Our kitchens deliver restaurant-quality food in a relaxed café environment, serving great local coffee and fresh, vibrant menus. We’re proud of our reputation and of the strong team culture we’ve built along the way.

 

Who we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen and be comfortable working in a high-volume venue.

 

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who:

• brings a positive attitude to the kitchen

The role

As a chef you will:

• prepare and cook menu items to a high standard

• maintain presentation and consistency

• perform efficiently during busy services

• maintain a clean and organised workstation

• assist with prep and kitchen operations

• follow food safety and hygiene standards

• contribute positively to a supportive team culture

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

This role is in a regional location so it's preferable that applicants have their own transport as public transport is infrequent.  Alternatively you will need to live within walking/riding distance to the venue.  Short-term accommadation within walking distance can be provided for 3 months to assist with relocation.
