JOB DESCRIPTION

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll help bring the energy and elegance of Blackbird to life supporting the day-to-day running of the venue, leading service on the floor, and coaching a high-performing team to deliver excellence with every interaction.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting daily restaurant operations and delivering a seamless guest experience

  • Leading the floor during service ensuring premium service delivery, guest satisfaction, and team coordination

  • Assisting with reservations, table allocations, and rostering based on business needs

  • Supervising and mentoring front-of-house restaurant staff. Providing feedback, training, and motivation and going through their duties.

  • Managing guest feedback and ensuring service recovery when needed

  • Supporting stock control processes including deliveries, inventory checks, and presentation standards

  • Liaising with the kitchen and bar teams to maintain timing, presentation, and menu knowledge among staff

  • Upholding Blackbird’s standards in ambience, cleanliness, and overall presentation

  • Taking on delegated administrative and operational responsibilities as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years experience as an Assistant Restaurant or Restaurant Manager role

  • Confidence in decision-making, especially under pressure

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • A professional, positive attitude and a desire to grow with an award-winning group

  • Experience in premium dining, events, or multi-level venues

  • Natural leadership with strong communication and team-building skills

  • Working knowledge of POS and rostering systems

  • A solid understanding of WHS, RSA and licensing requirements
